Hi, we are considering purchasing a new home in Kitts Creek and wanted to get some feedback on the neighborhood from anyone who lives there (pros & cons, happy there?, etc...). We are considering the following builders: Revolution, Chesapeake, Ryan Homes...and wanted to get feedback on them, as well. Thank you.

I can't give you any feedback on the builders, as we've been living in Kitts Creek since 2007 (ExperienceOne built our house), but it's a very family-friendly neighborhood with great amenities (pool, clubhouse, playground, etc.). There have been a lot of new homes built in the last two years, and the last infrastructure phase is being finished now for Lennar, which also just started building.

Default Kitts creek - church street closing to s.miami

We too are looking at homes in kits creeks.

BUT, I came to know that Church street to S.Miami blvd is going to be closed for good. Plan is for Church street to turn into keystone park lane.

Shouldn't I see this as a disadvantage? I want to get to 540 or 40
- will have to go all the way down through Kitts creek, take Davis, then 40 or NC147-540 (Toll).
- or drive through keystone down the entire subdivision, park knoll via sort of industrial area then take Davis Dr.

In my opinion this is one of the. Main drawbacks at an otherwise great location. But at least you can go down Kitt Creek road to Davis and access most of RTP quickly that way. Also, once Keystone Park Dr is completed to Hopson as part of the rail construction ongoing it will be much quicker to get to 40. Many of those of us living in Kitts Creek can't wait for the railroad crossing at Church and Miami to close. It will make it more inconvenient for getting to I-540, but that's not the worst thing, as we've seen a lot of cut-through traffic from Davis Drive (primarily people working at Cisco and NetApp) at rush hour.

I imagine that most people who want to get to I-40 will go to Keystone Park Drive (through Keystone Crossing, which is right next to KC), and then take the under construction extension of that road to Hopson Road back to either Davis or Miami. Of course, the widening of Hopson Road is still unfunded the last I heard...

You will have to be careful with resale. Especially if you buy one of the older Experience One homes in a vivid color. The builder was replaced by Ryan because sales dried up in 2009/2010.
