Just noticed this yesterday. The sign said they were open. Going to head there for lunch today. I'm excited because, while Dickey's isn't the best absolute BBQ you could ever eat, it's damn good, and reasonably priced, and we needed something like this here in Wakefield. Spinners was downright awful, so if this place does well, I'll be thrilled.
The one in Brier Creek is newly opened as well. Stopped in there a couple weeks ago. Looks like they cook the meats at one of the bigger restaurants, and then deliver it to the smaller shops. Pretty sure the Brier Creek store does not smoke the meats in house.
Still good food though! Love the brisket and the sides!
RDU...you buying? What time we meeting? I might need to head over the WF today for something else!

Hmm, interesting. I'll find out if the one here cooks their own meats. Not that I care, the food is great.
It's funny. I spent 21 years of my life in Dallas TX. Dickeys was one of the lower tier offerings for BBQ there. There were dozens better. There was one located within 2 miles of my house, but we only went there when we got a good coupon and we couldn't pass up the deal.
Here. . . . .it's my saving grace We go to the one in Crossroads for brisket probably once a month.
Yeah, I bet if I was stuck out west somewhere and found a Smithfield's, I'd be super excited!
Actually, a friend of mine from Washington says there's a NC BBQ place near his old hometown. The guy was from here somewhere, and opened a NC BBQ joint. He says it does VERY well.
Hmm...we went to the one at Crossroads one time and I thought it was awful. Never been back.
Maybe I need to give them another shot.
In the past I had not felt so hot after eating there(maybe 2 years ago), I actually tried it 3 or 4 times before I caught on to the pattern. This was a year or two ago. I gave em another shot because of a awesome coupon and it was OK, I wouldn't recommend it that's for sure.
It's a lot of food for not a lot of money thats for sure.
I suppose Dickeys is ok for fans of Texas BBQ, but it's not eastern NC BBQ. Smithfields is better in that respect.
Ugh. Went to Smithfields when we first moved here 6 years ago. Awful. My wife and I left half of our meal on our plates. Haven't been back since.
