Check out //www.city-data.com/forum/ralei...des-photo.html The list under Moving From might be useful. There is a list of pizza threads as well.

As I have no idea what you like, suggesting places like Big Ed's City Market (great southern food served by waitresses who call you "darlin'"), Lucky 32 (food with a southern twist, waitresses more subdued), LaFarm Bakery (French food, outrageous bread and pastries), Fullsteam Brewery (local beer, food trucks, and trivia night on Thursdays) might be just what you are looking for or miss by a mile.

Time to open presents.

Merry Christmas.

It would help to know more specifics as to what you are looking for. Downtown on Glenwood South is where the nightlife is if that is what you are looking for. North Hills is another popular area. If you like Porsche vehicles, there is an exhibit at the North Carolina Art Museum. The Nutcracker will be performed until December 29th at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium.

Well I'm not into clubbing or anything like that. Is there a place where I can just park and walk around and hit a few pubs, maybe get something to eat?

Here is a directory for North Hills. There is plenty of parking and it is easy to walk around. Bars | Business Types | North Hills

Downtown Raleigh has plenty of bars too. There is also the R line bus which is free and will take you around to the different areas. Explore Here :: Nightlife :: Bars & Clubs :: Downtown Raleigh

Tir na Nog is popular and they have music different nights. Tir na nOg | Tir Na Nog

Seaboard Station in downtown and on the R Line has a few places as well you might like. Seaboard Station Shops Tyler's Taproom came to mind of somewhere you might like.
