Verizon can't come to Raleigh because they were in Durham and west for the most part and Raleigh and East was Bellsouth. The old phone companies had their territories and that's just the way it developed here.
Then Verizon sold their operations here to Frontier, which still has FIOS I think. SO, you can move to the "Raleigh" area and get FIOS, but it is Durham.
Where we are moving to at the end of the month only has Time Warner so we are going with them. Can't live without our internet...
