Afternoon all,

I have been trying to find the answer, but cant really pin point it so thought i would ask for it from those who would know!

I am looking for the time it takes to get to/from 95 if:
  • Traveling North from Florida and going to Apex
  • Traveling North from FLorida and going to Wake Forest
  • Leaving Wake Forest and going to NJ
  • Leaving Apex and going to NJ
Basically, what i am trying to figure out is, the time someone will need to travel to come visit us (have not decided yet between Apex and WF) if coming home from Fla or going to.

Might seem odd, but something people have asked a bunch of times to us as we plan to relocate, and using map software sometimes takes you odd routes, so just wanted to ask.

Generally speaking, a Raleigh detour will add about 45 minutes onto the drive regardless of either location you mentioned. We've had people visit us along their drive a few times and that's pretty much what it boiled down too.

And of course this is only relevant in the first two years because after that nobody actually stops by to visit, it's too far off the beaten path.

I live in Apex, but when I travel north I take 540 to Creedmoor Rd. to I-85 and hit 95 in Petersburg, VA (It's quicker). When I travel south I go down 401 to just north of Fayetteville and then cut over to 95.

I know that doesn't really answer your question, but for us they are quicker and shorter routes.

I am in Wake Forest and when I drive north I take I-85 to connect with I-95.

Mapquest usually does a good job of the routes and time it will take (if there isn't a traffic backup anywhere)

It takes me 4 hours to get to Washington, D.C so New Jersey is likely about another four hours from there.

Where in Florida are you coming from? It will make a differrence if it is Jacksonville or Miami.
