FWIW , I would submit they'll work the toll math the other way ... the owners will look at their bond payments and the usage (miles driven) and set the toll mileage rate accordingly.
Hence the large spread in predicted toll rates.

That connector at TW Alexander has been there for quite a while, if I understand the location.

Me not likey. But, then again, I oppose toll roads in any fashion, and I like my current routes.

Not to hijack the thread, but can anyone tell me if this would affect my commute from Creedmoor? I take 15 out of Creedmoor to I-85 south thru Durham to Hwy. 147 south. I get off @ Cornwallis.

I started taking this way over Hwy. 50 south to I-540 west to I-40 west into RTP because there's less traffic. Time is essentially the same either way, 35-40 minutes.

The TriEx by itself will not, but the East End Connector -- we'll know more this summer about funding and timing, but hopefully mid-2010's -- will.

The EEC will connect US 70 to NC 147 at that part where the Durham Freeway bends from largely N/S to E/W. It'll also continue the freeway-style widening and improvements of US 70 from NC 98 south towards Pleasant Dr.

Bottom line: you'll be able to have an all-freeway connection between RTP and I-85 without having to exit 85 and driving through Durham.

As a Durhamite who lives on one of those shortcut road pairs (Duke/Gregson, Roxboro/Mangum, Avondale/Alston) used to cut through, I'll also add my regular plea to obey the traffic laws, don't speed, and slow down for school zones when cutting through "our local streets" between 147 and 85!
