Quite true.

In my Federal agency, it is required to post outside even when the appointing official already knows the position will be filled by an internal promotion.

Waste of everyone's time, but required by policy.

Yes! My first food truck rodeo. Lines were fairly long, but I got to have Chirba Chirba, and then some amazing carrot cake from Favor Desserts!

(oh and 2 free beers courtesy of Cisco)

I also got to try Barone's meatballs for the first time! Reminds me of the parties that were thrown frequently in the 90's.

Used to have Friday happy hour events to blow off steam. Beer/wine stopped in the early 2000's but as of the past few years beer is back in the mix.

I am glad you posted this. In NY it is a common union practice but I was quite sure I was seeing it here at some large hospitals. Now I feel more certain.

Nortel (BNR) used to do this back in the '80s. I heard they stopped after someone had a little too much and then drove home. They were worried about liability.
