Vicky, let's have a City-Data get together there when it opens! I can't wait to see you jump!
Ha ha ha! FYI...I had a trampoline when I was 16 years old.
Boyfriend at the time (hubby now) was pushing me up and down and fell off! He ended up with broken arm. Good thing he was working for my dad at the time!
My kids always had a trampoline in our back yard. 4 kids. Only injury was daughter's friend that broke her finger. Right after that, her parents bought her a trampoline for their back yard. Go figure!
They are certainly popular places, but we'll find other things to do. I think the trampoline parks are more dangerous than home trampolines. They have foam pits and encourage a lot of flipping, etc.
We've got plenty of other things to do this summer. Y'all stay safe!
Those places scare me. I know so many people who have gotten injured at them, torn ACL, broken foot, broken ankles, etc.
I know people that have been injured(broken ankle) walking in Umstead park....on and a friend tore her ACL at the gym.... I guess state parks and gyms are bad as well?
Defy Gravity is the leading cause of injuries among my friends and acquaintances . Maybe I just have clumsy friends?
Don't know anyone lately who has been badly injured anywhere else, but I do know quite a few runners, cyclists, etc.
If you're interested you can read the links I posted up thread. I don't think the AAP (American Association of Physicians) has a problem with gyms or state parks.

My daughter has been to two parties there, and one of her friends was injured there. It's funny because my daughter's friends were over this past weekend, and I asked them for some ideas for my soon-to-be 7-year old's birthday party. And one of them suggested Defy Gravity, and two of the girls were like, "no that place is dangerous. We know a lot of people who got hurt there." So I guess Poppydog's friends aren't the only clumsy ones.
