Okay....again for the moms....and ortho pluggers,

A slight dilemma. My daughter has been in braces since the beginning of '07. The estimate for her treatment was up to 3 yrs. We paid up front. (A mess for me to dive into now......YAY!)

Circumstance moves us to consider relocation. That leaves 1+ yr of treatment (after we move) left. (Moving 06/08 possibly)

Is there an awesome orthodontist you would recommend? Why?

Trying to find my way out of travelling every other month for a treatment.
Suggestions highly appreciated!

I had this happen to me. We prepaid also. According to my son's former orthodontist, he was near the end of treatment when we moved last summer. He refunded me a few hundred dollars for the cost of the retainers and he warned me that this obviously would not cover the remainder of treatment with a new orthodontist. Almost a year and a half later...he is finally scheduled to have them removed in early January. We had to pay quite a bit to finish treatment although my son's treatment is definitely more involved than the usual teeth straightening. My point is...make sure you talk to your current orthodontist and try to get some money back for work not completed.

My son went to Dr. Brunk in North Raleigh and we really liked him - he was always very approachable and willing to answer any questions. Dr. Chauncy Nelson goes to our church and while we did not go to him I know that he has some high tech devices/methods that cuts the time in braces to about half.

I worked for a periodontist in Cary and will get you a name of a good orthodontist. Remember to ask me.

Hixon and Bumgarner. They have three offices. They've just done a great job with my daughter's braces and the staff has always been great.
