My binoculars have been dropped one time too many and are in need of repair. Googling hasn't told me much, but I wonder if anyone here knows of a local repair shop - sometimes these old school types of businesses don't have much of a web presence.

Otherwise, it looks like an alternative will be mailing them away. There's a place in Hampstead, NC called Redlich Binocular Repair, does anyone have any experience with them?

There are baby hawks in my yard that need to be spied upon!!

Thanks.

I don't know of anyone, but I wonder if one of the outdoor stores like Great Outdoor Provision Company or a good camera store might know someone local who does that kind of work.

Try contacting the manufacturer for a repair referral.

Would it be cheaper/easier to buy a new pair?

Unless they are very high dollar binocs, like Swarovski, Fraser, Zeiss, and cost well over $1000, you're better off just replacing them.

I would check a camera store first.

They are a decent pair, and worth fixing. I could never just throw them away. I can see what the problem is, just don't have the skills/knowledge to fix them myself. I'd much rather provide some income to a skilled technician who owns their own business than buy a new pair.

We've gotten lots of optical equipment repaired over the years, just not locally. I guess Hampstead is as close as I'm going to get!

Check with a good camera store. If they can't repair them they might know who can locally.
