Hello,

For those of you who got ditched cable and started using a digital antenna. Could you tell me which digital antenna you bought, its effectiveness in the triangle, and what are the channels you're getting?

I am finally ditching cable with my move to Raleigh from NYC. I just ordered my service and NO CABLE TV package

Thanks

I can't guarantee this will work, but hook your TV up to the cable outlet and see if you get channels. I've been hearing from a lot of people that they've been able to get the basic channels even without subscribing to cable.

We still get basic on one of old lines, but we no longer have a TV in that room. My wife occasionally take a small set to watch something of interest.

I did a LEAF antenna and had good luck. No matter which one I have tried in the Holly Springs area, antenna needed to be near a Window, even with amplified to get the channels clearly. I think an attic antenna or roof antenna would definitely be best, but if inside, I think it just depends on your house, terrain, etc... on how many channels you are going to get without pixelation.

I can get 5 or 6 channels just using an old rabbit ears antenna. Nothing fancy at all.

Consumer Reports found that performance varied so much from one household to the next, they couldn't really rank the antennas they tested.

I have a Leaf I use as backup to cable. It works well.

I just got an e-mail from them today announcing a new antenna. They are a local company, out of Garner.

Mohu Leaf in 27511

PBS x3
CBS x2
ABC x3
NBC x2
22
28
44 x2
50 x2

(I left off a few channels I get, that don't excite me (Spanish broadcast, country videos, etc.). So I guess I'm actually getting 18 channels that I watch.

Awesome responses!

Is anyone able to get any sport channel? Like ESPN? My biggest concern right now is being able to watch the world cup live.
