Need to find cheap apartment in Cary/Raleigh Area Fast!! (Wake Forest: lease, crime)

I have been trying to do the internet thing to find an apartment but I don't seem to be getting anywhere. I am moving down to the area for my job and need to find a 1bd/1bath apartment under or around 600$ and if possible with a short term lease. Any suggestions???

Is a room to rent possible? I know I saw some fabulous deals on craigslist over the weekend for some really nice places to live for that price (with utilities included!)

Otherwise, I would hit up www.apartmentratings.com
At least that way, you can get some honest reviews from actual residents. With that range, you're best bet would probably be some of the older apartment complexes. Try Six Forks Station or do a search under apartment ratings for zip code 27612.

Try Montecito on Wake Forest Rd. My daughter lives there.

Older but good maintenance. Convenient area on busline without outrageous crime issues.

Check out craigslist if you have not already. They have rooms to rent or sometimes duplex/triplexs and other small apartments that you can not find on apartment search engines as they are small.
