Hi there!
We are heading to the Raleigh area in another week to look around and get a feel for the area. Looking for some input from any other folks who may have moved south from the Northeast, or Raleigh area residents. We are in our early 40s and looking for a more active, and invigorating place to live. We both have grown up and lived in CT our entire lives and very interested in what people have to say about moving to NC, likes, dislikes, ease of transition, etc.
Thanks!

I grew up in CT and left in the early 90's when the state's economy really started to tank. First to Upstate NY, then to NC in 1996. Let me know what questions you might have that hopefully I can answer.

I'm planning a move to Durham/Chapel Hill (the Triangle area) myself in 2015 and will be visiting there next week. I'm originally from PA, but lived in Seattle for 13 years, and now in Buffalo New York -- looking to escape the cold Winters (and while Seattle wasn't nearly as cold as Buffalo - or Philadelphia - it was gray and rainy far too often - especially after being there that long). There is a TON of information both in these forums and on the Web -- just start searching. I'm in my 40's as well and am fairly active - one reason I want to move somewhere with milder temperatures is so that I can be outdoors - comfortably - much more often.
