While we're talking about ramen and Grand Asia, I'd like to put in a plug for one of my new favorite little restaurants, Pho Vietnam. It just opened last year and is in a small building on Buck Jones Rd., across the street from Grand Asia. Their summer rolls, pho noodle soups, and vermicelli dishes are all top notch. It's fast, cheap, and informal. Not an elegant atmosphere, but who needs that when the food and price is right. The people working there are also very nice and welcoming.

Thanks - we'll give it another try. Our single visit resulted in the worst banh mi sandwiches we've ever encountered.

Hey, if anyone happens to go to Dashi, please give us a review on CD. I live nowhere near Durham, so it would be a waste of gas money to go buy $14 ramen, and the taste isn't excellent. lol I hope its good.
I'm one of those people that normally don't mind spending a bit of money for a meal. I like the random and interesting. I like cultural experiences. However I just can't get past the average $15 price of Dashi for ramen.
(I know it's "not just ramen" so don't start with me. I just have a weird Americanized mental block on this issue.)
