I would suggest working that question from a couple of different angles, either start by searching welding job boards (I don't have specific suggestions, but a quick google search suggests there are many) and look for references to NC. Welding is often used in shipbuilding and certain industrial jobs that I doubt you'd find in the Raleigh area of NC specifically.
The alternative angle is to search general job boards focusing on the Raleigh area for keywords relevant to your profession. You might have to branch out a bit and do something new if you really have your heart set on this area.
Be aware unions are almost non-existand and wages may be on the low side in NC.
