I've been traveling around the Triad recently, and even some areas are looking more like North Raleigh or anywhere suburban USA. The Wendover Avenue corridor between Greensboro and High Point for sure, along with the majority of the High Point suburbs (Eastchester Drive, Skeet Club Road, etc.). These areas really aren't too different from North Raleigh, or Cary. Northwest Greensboro heading up to Summerfield, too. The areas around Jefferson Village Shopping Center, New Garden Road. However, I'd say the Triad feels more North Carolinian as opposed to "anywhere suburban USA." Definitely a strong legacy of tobacco, furniture manufacturing, and textiles.
