I was just looking on here for info about Oxford Hunt neighborhood!! And of course, there are photos from NRG in a dec. thread. How awesome. It looks like a great neighborhood, much like I'm looking for. However, I noticed that they're planning to move the base elementary from Briarcliff to the new Laurel Park elementary (which is year round, if the wcpss site is correct). I was hoping that it being "older" meant less moving about.
I'm really interested in a basement (I think--after being in FL 8 years on a slab). I'd LOVE to hear from anyone who has opinions on whether it's better to get 1) a house with a finished basement or 2) a house with a 3rd floor playroom/office or 3) a 2-story crawl space w/ a bonus room on the 2nd floor. Any opinions?
As far as floorplans go, it really depends on how you are going to use it, and how many members you have in your household. Are you planning on using it as a playroom? Or an office? Do you have young children that you need to supervise? Are your kids older and want some privacy? Do you work primarily from home (office)?
Well, we have three girls--12, 8, and 5. We were looking for a 4/3.5 house with some sort of "bonus" space. If we have a formal living room we'll use that as an office (for me, I write from home). The bonus space (basement, 3rd floor, or loft on the 2nd floor) would be a play/computer space for the kids. We have spent 8 years on one story in FL after growing in in VA in 2, 3, and even 4 story homes. I just wondered how people who have been raising kids in 2+ story homes are finding their "extra" spaces useful!
Thanks!
