I'm checking out a concert going on and looking between the GA/Open Air Reserved/ Cover Reserved.
I'm curious on how good the sound is in the GA section? I think the prices for Lawn was $12, some Covered Reserved for $27, or open air reserved for about $36
We've never had any issues hearing the music when we've been in the Lawn section and we've only ever gotten tickets there for the shows we've seen and a couple times we've sat nearly at the very back of the lawn section, so you should be able to hear just fine.
Location: Sodo Sopa at The Villas above Kenny' s House.

They have speakers to accomodate all areas of the pavilion. I have never noticed much difference between seating areas. It seems like maybe it's a little louder in the seats versus lawn. It's more a visual concern then an audible one when I purchase tickets to their shows.
It depends on the concert, but often the lawn is more enjoyable (spread a blanket, chillax vs. hard chair and crowded). The one caveat is if it rains, it's nice to be covered.
As mentioned, the sound is not a big difference. It will be louder up close, but more than loud enough in the back. (One other annoyance is that the further back you are, the more the timing is off between the visual and audio experience. Light travels faster than sound.)
I've been to 30-40 shows there, most on the lawn, but maybe 7-8 in the seats. It's lounder in the sections up close under the cover, but further back in the seats and on the lawn it's still plenty loud enough to hear just fine and feel like you are at a concert. I had very close seats on the left side at the aisle for Zac Brown last week and honestly was on the border of being comfortable without earplugs.
If you go for the lawn seating, don't bother trying to bring your own chair. They rent low folding chairs there for an affordable price, and most people use them. If there is any rain in the days before your show, the lawn will be damp, wet, or muddy. In those cases, a chair is pretty much required.
The sound system is sufficient for the music, but if the artist does any talking, you may have trouble hearing (or at least I have).
Unless you're getting to the show very early, I would suggest bringing your own low chair (seat can't be more than 9" from the ground, if I remember correctly). They do rent chairs ($5, last time I went to a show) but they often sell out, especially if the ground is damp.
