I've worked hard all of my life and don't plan on stopping now and my current full-time job is finding a new job.

My background experience is in new product hardware development and RF test engineering for IBM and then Lenovo, but I am not a design engineer. If anyone knows of potential job opportunities that may possibly fit those skills, please feel free to let me know by post or DM.

Thanks....! 8-)
Unfortunately, with the job market these days after a year you're practically a "lifer".

Don't worry, they can't find enough "STEM" workers... especially American ones... Just get your application in before Bill Gates gets his way with an infinite number of H1B visas..

Get up every morning just as if you were going to work. Shower, eat, get dressed. Sit down with your computer and at least put in a good 3 - 4 hours of applying and following up. Schedule interviews for mornings if possible, when you are fresh.

Network. Hit up all your friends. Go to the resume workshops. Email everyone on your LinkedIn network. That's what it's for. Even Facebook. This is no time to be prideful!

Exercise. Socialize but watch your pennies. Keep a daily routine. Keep a spreadsheet or diary of all your applications and the outcomes. There could be hundreds. Eat well. Don't sink into a fit of depression - if you do, see a doctor. ASAP.

Layoffs aren't the end of the world though it can sure feel that way at the time. Really...a window does open! A year (or much less!) from now this will just be a bad memory.

Good luck!
I've been laid off 3 times so far, and everything said here is pure gold. This perfectly describes my journey through layoffs.

I've been doing all of those things and calls are starting to come in, so I hope to land another job soon.
