If you're moving to NC expecting Hawaii, you're going in the wrong direction! Last winter was quite cold (7-8°F lows), many of the normally resilient evergreens showed frost damage when I examined them later last May.
Normally, it is cold and the dampness can accentuate it greatly. Too cold for tropical vegetation and too hot for Apples... Its a "crappy medium"..
What's the deal? Snow for Raleigh area This Saturday 1/23???
Hello! Writing to see if someone can post if they know about snow coming our way this weekend on 1/22 or 1/23... The local weather stations have been in denial but have seen as much at 6" forecasted by National weather for our area for this Saturday 1/23... Any thoughts? When will the bread & milk panic start? 😮
Bead and milk panic will ensue in earnest on Thursday. If you want to be ahead of the game go today.
I am not confident that Raleigh will get it. Sounds like VA is going to get walloped, but typically our biggest snowstorms come up from the South. I'm reserving judgement on it. It may be one of those where Roxboro gets a foot of snow and Raleigh gets half an inch. Or who knows maybe we'll get another 20 incher! I'm not sure they'll know until it gets here.
Could be ice. Saw that in one forecast. That's no good.
Yeah. Ice is no good. I would rather we get nothing than ice.
Ugh.
Snow? I like snow. It doesn't stay long around here and melts away. It's pretty. Ice is yucky and makes power go out.
Bleh.
