For those of you like me who aren't very good at making pies, I was wondering where in the Raelgih area you purchased pies to share with friends and family at Thanksgiving. Last year I found a great place called the Great Harvest Bread Company located just off of Strickland and Lead Mine Drive. They have great Pies and all kinds of awesome bread. I beleive they actually take orders weeks in adavance of the Holidays beacause of their popularity. I highly recommend them. Anybody have other places worth checking out?
The K&W Cafeteria at Cameron Village makes their own pies. You can buy the entire pie but for the holidays, I think you must order in advance. They also have the BEST fried chicken! Its been around for a very long time and we love it! They even have the old menu from when it first opened and food was about $1. Other than that, I have a receipe for an apple pie that my 13 year old daughter can make! Try it...people will be amazed! Vicki
K&W is a great suggestion. The Whole Food Market on Wade Avenue has tons of pies for the season. I was there today. They have three sizes..Individual, 8" pies, and large 12" pies in every flavor imagineable.
One of the builders brought TWO PECAN PIES into my office today. They were from the ANGUS BARN. Oh my goodness. Yummy yummy yummy. I bet they didn't last an hour! Vicki
