I just moved to Durham this year and I'm looking for a kickball league to join in the area. I'm not a serious player. I just want to have fun and meet some people. Any recommendations? Oh by the way, I'm 24.

Check out WAKA Kickball. No personal experience but have heard about them.

There is the trisports league. Kickball - Bull City Thursdays - Spring '16 : TRI SPORTS SOCIAL CLUB. I did it a few years ago in the one out of Chapel Hill and it was a fun young crowd.

I definitely recommend WAKA Kickball. I played for 4 seasons before my schedule got too crazy. There were 8 or more teams in the league and everyone was super nice. They have weekly after-game socials, parties during the season, and usually other bar crawls and social events. During my season, we had a trivia night, a happy hour, and a bowling social. Their link for the list of leagues is Durham, NC | WAKA Kickball & Social Sports. You end up meeting people from their other leagues (bowling, bar games, volleyball) at the club parties. I've heard the other league, TriSports, is really disorganized and that players are really competitive. Feel free to reply back if you have any other specific questions.

Yes, WAKA is the big one. Raleigh has Stonewall which is largely LGBT, but plenty of straight people play (especially females, but some males also--nobody asks what your orientation is) as well. Some who also play in WAKA are in this league and find it a little less competitive, or something. Though some teams are still very competitive.

I'm surprised googling "Durham kickball" didn't turn up anything.
