The only thing that is really excellent from Publix are their heartwarming holiday commercials. They are alway good.
If I could have my pick of something to come up to Raleigh from Florida, it would be Pollo Tropical.
I'm surprised you think Publix is an ordinary store, considering you have shopped there in FL for a long time. On the other hand, there will be many people who will think Wegmans is an ordinary store...and you will have the minority on here going crazy over it.

If you don't need to shop after 10pm, that's fine. But why would it bother you if a store is 24 hrs? There have been a number of occasions that I've been very thankful to be able to go to a grocery store after 10pm.

I have not seen this yet. It is something to see in the future. Expenses would shift to investing in and maintaining the technology.

Kroger tests

IDK about the RFID loops, but Kroger's already trying the electronic price tags out.

Why not look at the UPC price on the store shelf label? Unit pricing will give you a quick answer (If they use the same unit (oz./quarts/gal). Drives me NUTZ when they don't.

I live near the Cary Publix. It's a decent grocery store, but there's nothing really special about Publix. I prefer the Harris Teeter across the street from it.

Wegman's is way better than Publix in quality and price. I will drive from N. Raleigh to Cary to do my grocery shopping when Wegman's opens. I shopped at Publix in coastal Soith Carolina and the prices were very high..

Do you want to spend $1.67/quart or $0.88/quart? The smartest customer will realize $0.88/quart is the better deal.
