Being a Publix shopper in Miami for 15 years, I was never excited about them entering the NC market. Just what I always wanted, an ordinary store that closes at 10pm! How did we ever live without it?
The only thing that is really excellent from Publix are their heartwarming holiday commercials. They are alway good.
If I could have my pick of something to come up to Raleigh from Florida, it would be Pollo Tropical.
I'm surprised you think Publix is an ordinary store, considering you have shopped there in FL for a long time. On the other hand, there will be many people who will think Wegmans is an ordinary store...and you will have the minority on here going crazy over it.

I live near the Cary Publix. It's a decent grocery store, but there's nothing really special about Publix. I prefer the Harris Teeter across the street from it.
Wegman's is way better than Publix in quality and price. I will drive from N. Raleigh to Cary to do my grocery shopping when Wegman's opens. I shopped at Publix in coastal Soith Carolina and the prices were very high..

Do you want to spend $1.67/quart or $0.88/quart? The smartest customer will realize $0.88/quart is the better deal.
