Which among these schools is the best elementary school?

-Green Hope Elementary
-Northwoods Elementary
-Briarcliff Elementary
-Cary Elementary
-Farmington Woods Elementary
-Highcroft Drive Elementary
-Kingswood Elementary
-White Oak Elementary

My child will be going to first grade soon. Any feedback will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Whichever school is assigned to the area you want to live in.

What is "best" to you and what would be a good fit for your child, no stranger on here can answer that for you. You have some year round schools on there and some Traditional calendar schools listed. Is that a factor for you? Farmington Woods is a magnet, I am not sure the specialty. If you do not live in the base zone you would need to apply. Kingswood also a Magnet, the specialty is Montessori and it is also a title 1 school.

White Oak has not opened yet so the building will be new and shiny but there is no track record.

White Oak isn't even open yet.

Framington and Kingswood are magnets.

Cary is capped for next year if I'm not mistaken.

Best is an opinion.

I'm not familiar with those elementary schools but as long as an elementary school is not poor performing, I honestly don't think it matters a whole lot. If all your choices are similar, I'd just figure out where you want to live and go to the school you are assigned to.

My kids go to Highcroft, it's typically high on the list of desired schools in this area. I will tell you though that even at highly regarded schools the experience of your child is really a function of the particular teacher you get. We've had great ones and we've had terrible ones.

Thank you all for your replies.
Initially I am going to rent a house. Could you please tell me which school would be closer to parks and shops/restaurants? I would like to be in a populated area.

If you can find a rental around Farmington Woods, I would be on it like a fat boy on a cheeseburger.
Close to all that stuff you want.

As m378 said, pick where you want to live, then worry about the school. If you are moving to parts of Wake county, some schools are capped, there is a chance you will be redistricted in the next couple of years. Figure out which neighborhoods/regions have the amenities you require for your budget, then worry about schools.
