Hi.

Last year was my first at this show and I liked it. Good fireworks and fairly easy in and out. Last year I parked a ways out.

This year I'm thinking of going early and watching a movie. Can I setup behind the movie theater there and watch from the back of the movie parking lot? It is adjacent to the Target parking lot there and it looks like it would have a good view towards the show.

Does anyone know if that will work? ie. Is that area blocked off or bad viewing for some reason? How easy is it to exit from that shopping center afterwards?

Where/what direction are the fireworks set off?

I've watched them from there. You should be fine.

I've watched the fireworks from the backend of the lot between target and the movie theater, and you will get a good view. Getting out is a pain, but that is true for pretty much the entire area. Last year we sat in the grassy area between the parking lot at Brier Creek parkway, and liked it a lot. Lots of families, lots of kids, lots of good spots for blankets and chairs. That's where we will be going this year.

@meanieme, the fireworks are set off along the road between Barnes & Noble and Brasa, heading toward the office park between Brier Creek and I-540.

Seems the office park parking lots would provide a good view? And isn't there all that grass area along that fireworks road (Macaw St?). Do they allow people to sit there and watch?

People do watch from the office parking lots but the access in/out is not good. You have more ways to leave from the shopping center side.

The fireworks are set off from Macaw Rd, Ave, whatever it's called.

Last year they had some areas behind the stores roped off. We used to park behind the theater, but haven't lately. It takes a good 45 minutes to get out. Don't be in a hurry to leave. And the fireworks have started late some years, as late as almost 10pm due to waiting on RDU to give clearance. Expect to not leave the parking lot till close to 10:30 or later.

For thread searchers in 2017:

by my watch:
2016 - Fireworks started 9:30 PM and lasted until 9:55 PM (so it was 5 min longer that previous!)
2015 - Fireworks started 9:35 PM and lasted until 9:55 PM
2014 - Fireworks started 9:35 PM and lasted until 9:55 PM

All above had a 1-burst "5-minute warning" beforehand.
All appeared above the Brier Creek Shopping Center, east of the middle stores.
All had the 4th July fireworks typical "Grand Finale" multibursts for the last few minutes.

Specifics, (like rain-delays) could be found at the Facebook specific-event that's a part of the Shopping Center's general Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Brier-Creek...-401897133988/
