Speak for yourself. I'm 47 years young, and when MY bands come to town, I'm down in the pit, rain or not. In a few more years, I might be down there with my walker, but I'll be there nonetheless.

BTW, one of the best shows I've ever seen was in the rain at Red Hat in downtown Raleigh.

I sold my tickets to the Friday concert (lost some money on them) and bought tickets to the Saturday concert 3 hours before the start. Ended up with closer seats than I had originally. Heard Friday was miserable. Even with covered seats you'd still get drenched just walking in. I'm sure the parking lots were a muddy mess too. It was great on Saturday. Well worth it, but I would not have endured it on Friday.
