I was in the Field and Stream store at Parkside Town Commons in Cary today and they had signs saying the store is closing on September 26th! What is the problem with that shopping center? It seems they are really struggling to fill the empty spaces and I really wonder what tenant would go into the Field and Stream store....such a large space!
That is interesting - though it seems like there was a sudden influx of that type of store into the area, and coupled with online shopping, I wonder if it was too much for the market? It will be interesting to see what takes its place!

It's funny because I was actually in there looking for outdoor games for camping, cornhole that sort of thing. They didn't have anything suitable so I ordered from Amazon. I was also in the Frank's Cinebowl today and the bartender there told me it's been very slow there as well.
West Cary seems like an odd demographic for a Field and Stream. Not really surprising.
I totally agree. That store opening in that shopping center never made any sense to me. Carolina Preserve is right down the road and the rest of the place is full of northeastern transplants. I never even heard of this store till it opened over there.
And the area is totally over subscribed on this type of store, not to mention Dick's and REI sell some of the same stuff.
There's already a Cabela's, Gander Mountain and Bass Pro Shop in the area. You figure one out of the four would draw the short straw.
