I would beg to differ on the "these are really bad" comment. Kids are kids - there's good ones and bad ones everywhere. Wakefield's issues extend WAY beyond the high profile, horrible cases of driving fatalities -- there are some "really bad kids" there, as well, and at Sanderson, and Leesville, and at any of the other schools that Millbrook gets compared to.

Ask the Millbrook resource officer.

We met the one on MHS duty after my son was mugged by an ex-classmate outside our leasing office. May still be working that post.

Offender was so dumb he robbed a boy who knew him from class. My son's 6 feet and got in his licks so the jerk only got a baseball cap. not the gold chain he wanted.

Boy wound up blowing his chance at boot camp and going down for armed robbery (not my son).

These are the underclass of troublemakers that made it hard to run Millbrook.

Dr. Burns was a great influence on the school, but he left for administration.

A good education can be obtained at MHS, but there are quite a few opportunities to screw up in that school.

I'm actually a Millbrook supporter.

I have a feeling a lot more goes on at the high schools than the average Joe will ever know. I just pulled up Millbrook's base area - they do pull from a variety of neighborhoods. My husband heard Millbrook busses in some Juvies.. this may be heresay...

I don't think that Millbrook is awful, but it wouldn't be my top choice.

Some of the students may have prior issues.

Dr. Burns didn't tolerate it, but he's no longer there.

I don't doubt it - and I'm not saying there isn't a bad element.... but when your kids are little dots and in grade school.. well.. all high schools.. heck even middle schools seem "big and bad." Its hard to imagine your little one will ever be that big. I say this b/c I was that way just 10 years ago... as they grow older you sorta learn to roll with things...
