A few of us are looking to revive the Triangle Mets Fans meetup. Since Meetup costs $$, I'd like to gauge the interest. We're thinking about starting out at sports bars (Rookies in Durham has accommodated the group in the past) and if a congenial group starts to know each other, maybe start having some house get-togethers at the homes of those who spring for MLB-TV. If anyone would be interested in watching some games with fellow ex-pats, post here!

Sorry - Durham is already claimed by my Phillies meetup. We don't want your kind here!

If you disregard my warning and reform the group anyway, make sure there is a DirectTV subscriber in your group. MLB.TV doesn't work for Nationals games due to blackout restrictions, and since the Mets and Nationals are in the same division so play each other quite a bit, that eliminates a decent chunk of games. You'll need to watch on MASN or MASN2, which aren't carried by TWC. Or just go to a bar with DirectTV, but if your goal is to relocated to houses eventually (a good goal - sports bars are great for a 16 game football season, but can get expensive for a 162 game baseball season), you'll want that DirectTV subscriber or two.

Yup - DISH carries MASN, but I'm about to ditch them, and was looking at TWC/Spectrum - and now either have to figure out how to live without the Nationals or switch to AT&T/Direct TV (apparently UVerse does not carry MASN). Even tried to see if I could get MASN online, no such luck!

Just a heads up, too, Mets fans, if you want to see the future of the Mets, the Low-A Columbia Fireflies play in a gorgeous park that's just a day trip away. Not a bad trip if you want to catch Tebow. The Fireflies are also in the same league as teh Greensboro Grasshoppers so that's an option as well.

Definitely would be interested! There are lots of Mets fans in the Triangle...and it should be a good year! It would be great to watch some games with other folks in the area.

A lot of Mets fans? I doubt that. I mean, they made it to the World Series in 2015 and the playoffs last year and I can't remember seeing even a single cap anywhere. Of course there's an excellent chance the reason for that is one of the benefits of relocating to North Carolina is that you can shed the weight of rooting for New York's second class team .
