We use Chapel Hill (OWASA) water straight from the tap. There's a filter that goes to the ice-maker in our fridge, but to tell you the truth I wish there wasn't.

For drinking I use/buy Harris Teeter spring water by the gallon(s) (stock up when it goes on sale). I also use Deer Park in the 24 pack(s), again I stock up when it goes on sale.

I use tap water for coffee and cooking except when they do that maintenance once a year and the tap water smells terrible.

It's just me so I can get by with this. If I still had a house full of kids I would probably look at a house filtering system of some kind.

On a side note I started fishing Falls Lake in 1984. Falls Lake provides the drinking water for Raleigh and six other municipalities in eastern Wake County: Garner, Knightdale, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell and Zebulon).
In 1984 Falls was a pristine lake and the water was amazing. Today NOT SO MUCH .... I know they treat the water but seeing it up close and personal makes me wonder so I choose to drink bottled

We just do straight tap. In Durham.
Just out of habit - my parents always filtered or boiled tap water so I got used to it growing up

Bottles (from Costco) and Brita. Because they taste better.

I've heard in Granville county they they gave warnings regarding water and cancer at some point. With all the stories you hear these days, especially like what happened in Michigan, I just can't be 100% relaxed about drinking tap water.

Also Lil e I mentioned the taste is also a factor for me. For those that have the Brita filters, does it taste the same? Or does it taste like fridge or bottled water? My friend had one of the cheap filters once and it tasted exactly the same as regular tap water. I am not sure if the more expensive ones like Brita that was posted here would make a noticeable difference.

Bottled water is horrible, terrible, and no good for the environment. Switch to a filter if you don't trust the tap water.

We find that the Brita water taste MUCH better than tap. This may be partially due to the fact that it's very cold, unlike tap water (and I don't like ice). But I even use that Brita water when I cook certain things (soup stocks, rice) and I sincerely believe it tastes better.

We bought the thing from Costco so we knew we could bring it back if we didn't taste any difference. Still have it.

We refill the plastic water bottle with the Brita water a few times before we pitch them. Yeah, I know, they plastic bottles are not good for the environment.

Most bottled water is nothing but municipal tap water. You're wasting money and adding to the landfill.
