I have searched far and wide and it seems pay at Duke is a closely held secret. Anyone want to let me in on it? I am seeking the ranges for job families 12, 14, and 98. Thanks if you can assist!

I think that what you want is in one of these spreadsheets:

Thats no doubt true, but you have to login in order to view those documents, i.e., one must be a current employee.

I would love to see it, but I do not have a login. Are you able to share the information?

unfortunately, those spreadsheets have pretty large ranges.

for example. the range for a position in my department is 38-138 ... so yeah, probably not as helpful as you think.

Would you mind sharing just 12 and 14 then?

Job family 12 seems non-descript and does not list pay ranges. The job titles are things like Temporary Service, Golf Club Starter, Musician, and Unclassified. Not much info there.

Job family 14 seems to be police related. Job titles such as Crime Prevention Specialist, Police Officer, Police Lieutenant, etc. The pay ranges vary significantly depending on the job, from $18.64 for the minimum for a Police Officer Trainee to $44.80 for the maximum for a Police Lieutenant.

Job family 98 is not listed on the form (they go up to 50), though that is a possibility for Job Level, if you meant that instead. Job Level 98 are executive positions, like Vice President of XYZ or Associate Dean of ABC or Director of XYZ. Pay ranges are not listed for these.

Since these jobs don't seem to have much in common with each other across the numbers you listed, you might have the wrong numbers for what you are looking for.

I see - thanks. Could you share job level pay for the 12 and 14?

It would be easier to give you an accurate answer if you gave the job title.
