In this area what do you find is the best way to sell Quality and not out of date furnishing? Besides Craigslist and the Buy Trade Sell FB pages, which I've found people low ball on to the point of being ridiculous , what else is out there? Are estate sells worthwhile here? I've never seen one advertised. We will be selling an extensive amount of current household. Henredon, Ethan Allen, Century etc etc. The type of things I hesitate to just put out at a garage sale! Looking for some other ideas Thanks.
Estate sales are very popular here, and it takes a lot of work out of the hands of the seller. I have heard that the split is about 50:50 though. A nice sofa might go for $1000, so you would only get half that. There are also a few high end furniture consignment places if you only have a few pieces. Soho and Peterson's are two. In your case you might do best with an Estate Sale because it could be done all at once. The consignment places are space-limited.

Do you happen to know any of the estate sale companies? I couldn't really find much during a search. Thank you.

Just put in the listing that the price is firm, and lower offers will not be entertained. That's what I do. If anyone tries to offer lower, I just ignore them. I may find that there's no interest at that price, and after a few days, I'll choose to lower it.

I've never had luck with that. I know there used to be a Buy Trade sale for higher end items but when I searched again nothing came up.
If you think CL prices are low just wait till you have a garage sale.
My experience with used furniture is it holds very little value and enjoys a very steep depreciation curve. What was $1500 is now maybe $250 in good condition several years later. Most people don't have the ability to bring it home (no truck or trailer available) which cuts the pool of buyers considerably.
you could try a consignment shop, but I doubt it'll net you as much as craigslist would. It still might be worth it though since there would likely be less hassle on your part.
Have you tried posting on Nextdoor.com? I find the classifieds on there seem to move quick.
I think with yard sales they know you have your items outside and that you don't want to drag them back in so they have you at a disadvantage. They are better for selling bulk quantities of inexpensive items. A
lso, you have to consider, furniture trends change and what might be high quality piece that you paid a lot for and loved dearly might not hold the same attraction for buyers interested in more updated furnishings.

I will 2nd Nextdoor. It has become the modern day Craigslist in my area with Classified postings outstripping neighborhood postings. In theory your buyers are identified and somewhat local. Low price things go quickly whereas more expensive things sit. We bought a Leather sofa/loveseat combination for $100 from someone moving (and it did have a few cat scratches). Our dog has more damage to it than the prior owner's cat did. May not be the best place to list if you want top dollar though. [Sounds like a good reason to never buy furniture new as it drops in value so quickly]
