If you're talking about the building across Southwest Durham Drive from Kroger, Home2, and Freddy's, then that's actually University Ford/University Kia.
Also, Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd from the pickle west is 15-501; East of that is 15-501 Business.
Yes, that's the location I was asking about. My question was a general one insofar as 15-501 goes. I just wanted to know what the structure is since there were no visible signs when I turned from 15-501 onto Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd. on the route I took home.

You got me confused there and I've lived here many decades. Nobody I know calls it Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd. It's just 15-501.
You've got regular 15-501 which runs between Chapel Hill and Durham (and I guess is sometimes known as Durham-Chapel Hill Blvd) and 15-501 business and 15-501 bypass. You didn't turn off 15-501. You stayed on it. I presume you were saying you exited 15-501 bypass?
I've been watching that construction going up where you're talking about. They're moving fast on it.
They're also going to build the Wegmans where Performance auto is next to the old BCBS bldg, but Performance has to move out to Southpoint first I believe.

Yeah I had to think for a second there as well. It's all 15-501 to me and if anything else it's just the shorthanded Chapel Hill Blvd. To each their own though.
They really are flying with the construction. I imagine it's a desire to leave their old location before it starts getting nice outside for the spring shoppers/deal events.
I was walking around the American Tobacco Campus last week with my girlfriend and did a loop around the existing dealership. There are some small details there as well that indicate their desire to leave. One being their entire backlot used to be filled to the brim with vehicles in various state of work and accident/abandonment. It's been pretty cleared out over the past few months. I imagine they're cleaning house as much as possible before having to move. That and I imagine ATC wants them out sooner than later since they probably would love to do something with that land.
I just looked it up for you readers. The road where I turned RIGHT from 15-501 was "SOUTHWEST DURHAM DRIVE." It is the shortcut I take to get back home when I am traveling north on 15-501. This road passes Patterson Place. I may have looked at the other sign which I saw in my travels. Honestly I don't pay attention to signs normally as I know the route I take home like the back of my hand!
In any case, my question referenced some landmarks I mentioned - Kroger, Freddy's, etc.
I also assume that University Ford will close the Chapel Hill location (if they haven't closed it already) thus continuing the car lot exodus from Chapel Hill.

Since it's University Ford/University Kia, my assumption would be that the dealership of the same name in downtown Durham is moving to the outskirts.
