My aunt had a condo in Florida that backed up to a creek of some type and she had a gator in there! However, in NC, I can say that in all the years that I've lived here...I have not seen a gator here! However, my backyard is fenced in so maybe thats why?!! Too funny!

When I was in the Coast Guard down in Emerald Isle, I saw 3 gators the whole 4 years I was there. One was in the White Oak River up stream from Swansboro, and the other 2 were in the ICW around North Topsail. It's still not very common to see them there and SE North Carolina is about as far north as you'll see them. The only way you'd see an Aligator anywhere close to Raleigh is if someone let it go on purpose.

And from the beginning, I thought you were praising the area.

Have to agree with that Mike. Looks like praise to me too.

Newmom, I understood your intent from the beginning. Spring is such a glorious season, isn't it? I just love it when the trees and flowers start to bloom.

Take heart, Northerners. Spring will be coming your way soon!

Mrs Steel I think it needs to be said that you couldn't be any sweeter if you made of suger and molassis. (this sounds pretty strange but is meant to be a compliment. haha)
