The media took care of the prediction part.

Maybe I should clarify: this includes Never Trump, No Way Trump, Impossible Trump, I Don't Like Trump, Trump Doesn't Fit My Agenda, and every other skeptical group that could not see the forest for the trees.

That said, if Amazon said that it was going somewhere else, I wouldn't care. Honestly, I'm not even a big fan of Amazon; I only use that site for odds and ends.
Interesting that he said Raleigh got the highest overall grade on CNBC's ranking.
Thanks for sharing that.

Amazon is actually a Software Company. I see people say they want "Software Jobs". Well, that's what Amazon does. They have a cloud platform (Paas). They offer Webservices, which more and more people are migrating to ... etc.
Anyone who thinks Amazon just sells stuff ... is not properly informed.
Amazon hires the best minds in Technology. Anyone who has gone through an Interview will tell you. Just as hard to get into Amazon as into Google or Facebook, if you are a Software Developer.

But they will also work for less wages than an American applicant, which drives down wages and displaces American workers.

This is a serious problem in the tech industry.

Me too!

That said, if the Raleigh area is (un)lucky enough to be chosen for HQ2, I would fast forward my plans to move further south. Take advantage of the further run up in house prices that would result, and git the heck out of dodge!

It's always fun to see people work themselves into a lather over speculation.

"My imaginary scenario is SO MUCH MORE DIRE than YOUR imaginary scenario, so I win!11!"

Um okay, what'd ya win?

Yep, they are THE LEADER in Cloud, which is probably the #1 buzz-word in IT right now.

Some of the largest websites in the world, including Reddit.com run on Amazon's Cloud. It's amazing. The need for experience IT professionals is the only thing keeping us in this fight, as far as I'm concerned.

The Visa program needs to be fixed, regardless of where Amazon goes.
