Another railroad bridge, this time the vehicle won - sort of, unlike with the Durham railroad bridge. This is, I believe, an active track, just north of Apex.
North Salem Street will remain closed near Old Jenks Road and U.S. 64 until CSX and the N.C. Department of Transportation inspect the railroad bridge and determine it is safe to pass under, said Apex police Capt. Ann Stephens.
Railroads are pretty quick to respond to things like this. There are cameras and sensors.
When I saw the initial report this morning and Apex was it wrong to hope it was the bridge on 55 near Salem? Might be the only way they ever widen that spot... (kidding)
