Trying to get into Angie's is virtually impossible; It's so crowded all the time. It's a good sign, but it also means you have to be willing to fight off some elderly folks if you want to get in.
Big Eds in Garner would be a dream. I love the one in City Market.
It's because this area is in very short supply of diners. Everything that has opened in the last 5 years are mostly hipster restaurants serving overpriced mediocre food. I dont blame them. You need to charge $17-$25 per plate to pay the rent in many of these places.

Nothing compares to Bojangles anyway...its BO time.
I wonder if Ed's is opening in the vacant location on Timber and 50 intersection near the post office. Can't remember the name of the restaurant that was there recently (Lasted only a few months) but used to be a Mexican place for years. Between the Food Lion and the Subway.
We recently visited Big Ed's on Falls of Neuse and was relieved to discover that it was every bit as good at the City Market spot. And while I love going downtown and still prefer to do so, knowing the alternative location is equally worth my time is kind of cool.
I'm sure if they open up a spot south of the city it will also be just a little bit of breakfast perfection.

Every time I come back from a trip to Philly, I keep wishing that we had Diners down here like they do up there; a place where you can go get a meal and a slice of pie at a decent price. Also, we are lacking in 24 hour establishments.

FWIW: Denny's doesn't count.
Check out Angie's in Garner some time. Southern locals and small. Just a fantastic place.

Metro Diner on Falls of Neuse is a suitable alternative. They capture the spirit of a 24 hour diner nicely, including a diverse menu and affordable prices.
I bet its the "Just Cookin" location. It was open about 6 months and closed. Would make sense for Ed's to go in there since it's already outfitted.
