Yup... Those of us that lived in the area during Fran are probably suffering a bit of PTSD right about now..

European weather model shows potential for 1-3 FEET of rain to fall over the Triangle and Triad.

I would have to be extremely confident of waterproofing to store anything of value in a basement over the next week.

Just had gutters and drains cleaned, so that is a good thing for my crawlspace. Still, will be concerned. That is a lot of water, even at the lowest end of the potential range.

Why did the other thread get moved? I know it's a state-wide storm, but hardly anyone checks the main NC forum

Some models this morning moving it further south which would spare us from the worst...

Because it is a statewide issue.

If the thread had been about the Triangle, specifically, it would have stayed here.

That said, I only moved it because someone reported it.

It's too bad the software doesn't maintain an active pointer in the old location. I know there's a pointer, but it doesn't update with the thread, and just falls down to the bottom. For example, I never check the main NC forum so that thread is as good as gone from my standpoint.

Anyhow, seems like a weird thing to report.

I know, so can we make this a Triangle specific thread then? Mainly what kind of impacts we would get here like less wind but enough to knock down trees, tons of rain, etc.

And what kind of stuff do Triangle people need to do to houses, nothing?

in the past, Hurricane of this size has cut power for how many days in the Triangle?
