We Want to stay in Wake forest for Hubby’s work . Either houses are too close together and everyone has barking dogs or if you go further out ( we found one we liked) you are near the woods and ppl have annoying ATV’s . I give up .
Could you rent to take the pressure off of finding the perfect home immediately? We drove around on weekends looking for neighborhoods we liked so we had a better idea whether to look at a home or not when they came up.
How long have you been looking? From what I understand, we're just getting into the "hotter" time of year for listings.
How big a lot are you looking for? Assuming 1/3 of an acre would fall in the too close together.
I have a buddy who lives in the Franklin County portion of WF; down off Purnell. He has a bigger lot than I do (Heritage) but has Franklin County schools vs Wake.
I think from your previous threads schools aren't really an issue so you could go into Granville or Franklin County and probably get a little more space. Look in Youngsville, they are building all kinds of houses all over the place with pretty decent sized yards and you aren't on top of your neighbors.

Older homes will have a bit more land but our typical is about 1/4 acre to 1/3 acre.
If you go out a bit, into Granville County, you will find more land. It all depends on what you want to pay.
Hopefully, your agent has discussed what is "typical" here. If you are looking to find a home with an acre for $100,000, you are just going to frustrate yourself.
No reason to give up! Our inventory is low. YOu have to be ready to buy when the right house pops up!
I’m hoping to stay at least 8 years- we have been renting a year. I had a house in NJ on a lake and quad bikes destroyed the peace . My max I am willing to pay is $450k it’s just the two of us . So yes we could go further out - just have to be careful of the quads further out lol I will keep looking Thanks everyone !
Yes we have an agent and I was one myself for years - I am finding it hard to find inbetweens for sale
