I tried to walk across Wake Forest Rd 35 years ago in that 4200 block. There was a BBQ place on the west side and I was on the east side. Wasn't able to safely get across for 2 days for lunch. Had to settle for Chi-Chi's both days. If you remember those two places you have been a around a while
I remember it well. The original Griffiin's restaurant stood about where the Chi-Chi's building is, and just past it was Raleigh Auto Auction. I was a big deal in the day.
North Hills. They should look into a leading pedestrian interval or preventing right turns on red there if they are going to keep an at grade crossing there. Won’t solve all the problems but it would help some with all the foot traffic.
Right outside my office is a crosswalk. If you push the walk button on my side it shows the walk signal 30% of the time. But if the button is pushed on the other side of the street it usually works. Some drivers get nasty when you are crossing without a signal.

Agreed. I live nearby and that is a pedestrian heavy area but not pedestrian friendly.

Help a lot! I walked to North Hills all the time when I lived there, but I didn’t cross Six Forks to go to the Teeter but once.
