Need a professional to remove a huge poison ivy vine (Durham: landscaping, gardening)

I just had a bunch of gardening done, and the landscape designer found a HUGE poison ivy vine wrapped around one of my very tall oak trees. I mean, this thing is huge -- the vine going up the tree is about 2-1/2" wide at its widest point, it's fully leafed out overhead, and of course there are trailing vines on the ground.
It seems to me that the best way to get rid of this monster is going to be for someone to make two cuts in the vine fairly close to the ground to cut off the connection to the overhead vine, and then dig out the root or do something else to kill it (probably glyphosate -- yuck).
I am NOT about to mess with this stuff. I am highly allergic to pretty much everything outdoors. I am a mosquito magnet and I'm already dealing with the aftermath of an overheated reaction to bug bites. I've had problems with simply pulling out ENGLISH ivy.
Does anyone know of a professional service that works in Durham that does this?
Any landscaping service or non allergic person can do it for you. Just as you and Mike said, cut the vine at the base of the tree and treat the stump with herbicide (concentrated glyphosate is the least nasty option). Spot treat any sprouts nearby. Just leave vine on the tree, or cut it up 6-8' off ground if in high traffic area.

Pay $5 and run an ad in Craigslist services section. You will get 50 emails of people offering to do it for next to nothing. $20-$50 easily. I do this very frequently when I have odd jobs I dont want to do. If you call a company most wont want to deal with a small job and they are going to overcharge you. It doesn't take rocket science to remove it. You just need someone willing.
Poured directly onto the stump, undiluted, it works well.
And, that stump killing is according to the label.
