Drove through Winston Ridge yesterday and noticed that somebody has taken the patio home concept and added a crawl space! Pure genius if you want to know my honest opinion.
I suspect whoever is commissioning that home was probably born and raised in the area because their color scheme is in perfect harmony with what our environment does to houses. Conversely, I've noticed that some of the other patio homes in Winston Ridge have hues that would look appropriate in the pacific northwest but one has to wonder how well those colors will hold up here in the unrelenting NC sunlight.
Now I'm hearing rumors that quality control has gone out the window at Winston Ridge. Pretty serious stuff too like shoddy workmanship on roofs and such. I guess this is what happens when the people actually building the houses are little more than day-laborers.
That's why everyone needs to get an inspection, even on new construction
Especially on new construction! I love going to look a new homes in my spare time and I'm noticing that builders are really cutting corners nowadays. I wonder why?
Seeing what I'm seeing makes me think that the bottom is probably going to fall out of the housing market again.
Lots of hate and discontent in Winston Ridge over the last few months as many residents are experiencing severe water pressure issues. Seems the local provider Franklin County Public Utilities is allowing the water pressure to drop drastically to about half what residents normally get. Making matters worse, it's hard to get an honest answer why this is happening. The obvious answer is corruption or incompetence but given the county's track record - it's probably equal measures of both. Oh and to add insult to injury, FCPU is even jacking up the rates.
