So the fair is coming up and I have a question. Would it be better to get the unlimited wristbands for $25 each or the ticket sheets of 18 tickets for $10 each?
I have a family for 4 (me, wife, 9yr, 4yr)
Trying to decide if it is worth getting a bracelet for my 9yr and then a bunch of tickets for us, or just get 2 wristbands and then some other tickets so we can ride with them?
My 4yr old likes going on more scary rides than my 9yr old so there is not parity all all the time.
My daughter is 5 and never ends up using more than a couple of tickets. The lines are super long and she usually freaks out about the rides. I'd probably just buy a couple of sheets and call it a day.
I'd buy the sheets, as noted the lines are ridiculous. The chances of going on that many rides is slim....invariably there will be people trying to sell their tickets as they leave because they didn't use them all.

Every. Time.
Now...if they ever come up with an unlimited wristband for the food vendors at the fair..........
We go during the day on a weekday with a couple other families and let the kids get wristbands (kids mostly 10 +/- 2 yrs) and let the kids go ride crazy when there are no lines. By evening, the lines make going on many rides not worth it.
If it is just us and our kid we might do a sheet and take in all the other stuff.
yes, if you're going when the crowds are insane, the # of rides you'll do goes way down. You also have to consider which rides your children will actually be tall enough to get on.
We go on a weekday afternoon and get the wristband as we can then go crazy on the rides. I think we did about 20 rides last time and it certainly paid for itself
Question for you fair-goers: out here in Texas, the State Fair is a mega-big deal. Is that true in NC as well? Is there a significant influx of folks from out of town on the weekends? Making some plans...

Hooyeah.
People move to Western Wake County from other parts of the country and think "This is North Carolina".
Then they go to the State Fair and are like "oh...wow"
I think the only 2 states with state fairs that are as big a deal as NC's state fair are Ohio and Texas, from something I read a few years ago. Judging from attending the NC fair compared to others, I'd say that's likely true.
