The best High school in Cary area is Green hope. Please check this site District Search Results Page for report about schools in Wake County which Cary is part of.

Default NC Report Cards...

is a great starting point, as ThomasJ says. Be sure to click the link for the report card snapshot. Be aware that these numbers go up and down (usually not by much, though). Today's numbers may make one school tops then another may be tops after the next testing session. The test scores do not tell the whole story, however. There are quite a few excellent schools in this area, not just one. Check out Panther Creek.
You can also go to the schools' websites to learn more about the schools Click on the name of the school/principal's name at the top of each profile page and it will take you to the website for the school. Visiting them in person is also very helpful, as is talking to parents of children that attend there and the children themselves.

ALl of the Cary high schools are very good. You can't go wrong with any of them.

I completely agree with lamishra and would add that the Apex high schools are great too. The population that feeds Green Hope and Panther Creek skews a little wealthier than Cary High, and that can be good and bad. All three Cary high schools have great SAT scores if that matters to you.
