The first thing that comes to mind is use the drive thru at Wells Fargo, my primary bank. But to do that, I suppose I need to make an ATM withdraw, then maybe drive around the building and get in line for the teller. I just need $20 or $40 in singles or rolls of quarters. Either is fine. This would be a piece of cake if it weren't for COVID. I tried calling the bank but I get a message, "we're all busy. try later.".

What I need is a reverse Coinstar machine connected to an ATM.

Take a check to the drive-through.

Why do you need to use the ATM? Can't you just pull up to the drive-thru and ask for a withdrawal in the bills/coins you need?

I am used to the ATM and never use drive thru. I was thinking I need a PIN but maybe all I need is a driver's license and/or check. I am not used to banking old style.

Thanks for the replies.

You are just making a withdrawal. All they need is your account info and then you tell them how you want your money. You don't need a check. You could fill out a withdrawal slip if you have one, but I'm sure if you just pull up to the drive through and explain what you want to the teller he or she can make that happen for you. I use NC SECU and they would want my ATM card, but that's all.

i suspect the courtesy counter at a Harris Teeter or Publix might do this for you.

I know I can write a check for CASH but I haven't done that in probably 30 years. Is that the best way?

I don't think that's necessary. Just go to the drive thru and explain what you want and which account you want to withdraw from. Do you ever use the drive thru? I don't bank at Wells Fargo so not sure how they operate, but at NC SECU you give the teller your ATM card and they swipe that to ID you. If you had a paper withdrawal slip you could fill that out, but pretty sure at NC SECU they would fill that out for me if I didn't have one.

Well maybe someone else can confirm how it works at Wells Fargo then, but that's what I would do if I wanted a roll of quarter or 20 ones.
