Other states (can't speak for ours) have stopped Monoclonal treatments because they don't touch Omicron.
And where did you see that a third of MA hospitalizations are vaxxed people? That would be, an admittedly, troubling outlier if accurate.
I saw it on my iPhone's News Headlines. Then I went to their dashboard. At that point it just had 12/28 data but it has since been updated with 12/29 data which even shows a slight uptick since the day before.

Recent data out of other "early Omicron" countries didn't show massive upticks in hospitalizations (even allowing for the lag) when compared to other waves. If we, collectively, don't follow that trend, going to be interesting to see why.
I know we aren't a very healthy society and collectively we lug around more lbs that others don't (the study about COVID and fat cells a few weeks back was interesting to read)....
My hopes aren't dimmed yet....but 33% vaccinated hospitalizations (even though, when I clicked through MA's dashboard, olds are still a ton of the hospitalizations)....isn't ideal.
Once again, just a screenshot with no link to the actual page it was taken from. Took a quick look at the NYC DOH site and couldn't find it.
It seems unlikely to me that there would be greater than 10x as many cases among the unvaccinated versus the vaccinated in a city with extremely high vaccination rates and extremely high case and transmission rates.
If you find the original page let me know, I'd be interested in seeing it.

So the graph is legit, and I stand corrected this is case RATE not total cases. So I guess it seems feasible, good news if so I guess.
Good news in terms of herd immunity? Perhaps. The unvaxxed are playing a game of Russian Roulette that they aren’t one of the unlucky ones who end up in the hospital, die, or develop long-Covid, however. Many seem to be taking comfort in a few weeks of data that could be indicating Omicron won’t be harmful to them, while ignoring the year+ worth of data indicating the vaccine won’t be harmful. But, hey, a lack of critical thinking skills is what got most of them here to begin with, right?

Case rate (per 100K) is really the only way to compare "Apples to Apples" given the disparity in population size of the vaxxed population to the non vaxxed population.

It's not a gamble though if you do your own research. Especially if you do your research with renowned virologist Uncle McDrunky
