Wondering about your best sources in Triangle for socializing?

Being a parent of a young professional adult, Purdue grad, and recent transplant to the state. Suggestions?

Thanks!

Good luck - I'm a 29 year old who has done little to no socializing during COVID (and I already have friend groups in the area).

I wouldn't be surprised if people ages 21-25 were turning to online dating apps like Bumble (there's a "find a friend" component to it aside from the dating feature)

Yeah, online dating did not work much for finding friends. We had a talk about this at home and were giving presentation - swipe right, swipe left, LOL

The amazing thing about Covid is that it really sucks for all age groups, but for much different reasons.

Oh I know from personal experience. Just my guess though as to what people are still trying anyways LOL!

Tell him or her to look into the Raleigh Jaycees. I think their regular monthly meetings are still online, but I think I recall seeing that they're still occasionally getting together for service projects. They may have other stuff going on as well.

(There’s also a Cary and a Durham chapter. I don’t know if they’re still doing activities.)

Other than meetup which has not done much of substance, socialization has been none since moving here as a transplant. Covid has stopped life as we know it. I think if I want to socialize, I’ll probably need to make trips back home to DC and Hampton Roads to do so.

Good suggestion for me as well.

Good suggestion for me as well.
Just take solace in the fact that there are tons of who are in the same boat as you are. And, as soon as this is over, there will be hundreds of people like yourself willing to let loose and socialize. I am pretty sure even introverts are sick of themselves and are fantasizing about going out and actually talking to people. I can only imagine the amount of wild "vaccine parties". At least 3 people I know promised to throw one... to be completely honest, I am really looking forward to them.

It's a misconception that introverts have been loving this or even loved it in the beginning. I'm an introvert, but that doesn't mean I want to be completely isolated. I like being around people. I need to be around people. I just need to be able to control how much I'm around other people when I've reached my limit.
