It's time we take a stand! This is ridiculous... and I'm calling out ABC11 and WRAL specifically! STOP IT ALREADY! Dammit!

It seems to have gotten sooooo much worse over the past five years. So ridiculous. It's like the boy who cried wolf at this point.

Every place I’ve been has always pumped up the storms which come through. I think it’s just a thing for local stations.

The weather channel does it too, naming regular storms like they do hurricanes. It’s everywhere now.

It’s the weather version of “if it bleeds, it leads”.

Ah the sarcasm... but no, the editors in the production meetings need to be held accountable and we, the viewers, need to illustrate our disapproval by not buying in to the hysteria, writing the news stations and not watching their coverage. This is so ridiculous. I'm tellin you, it's getting worse.

One of the field meteorologists at ABC11 was reporting on a puddle! A friggin puddle... saying so authoritatively, "the puddle has increased in size tremendously since we last checked!"

WTF?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I gave up my local cable. Now I just look on line, and I check more than one source.

Much more accurate.

They do no other tv journalism and have time to fill to sell psoriasis and constipation remedies.

Just get a weather app (DarkSky is my personal favorite) and make your own weather decisions based on multiple sources.

But, But "Snowpockalypse" & Snowmegeddeon and don't forget my favorite; BOMB CYCLONE ! Its all hype. Being a weather reporter must be a boring job. I saw one of these "journalists" step outside in a hurricane once and he was knocked off his behind and sent tumbling. Laughed my butt off watching that.

Yesterday afternoon they raised the ice amounts significantly just in time for schools to make their calls, and then shortly after the forecast was changed to nearly no ice in Wake.

I'm sure it was just coincidence, but it's frustrating.
