I learned the hard way to cover my rain barrels during The Pollening. Once the stuff washes into a barrel, it forms a really disgusting, stinky slime that has to be washed out later. Ain't nobody got time for that.
I've used local honey in my tea every day for years. It works. I used to really suffer and no medications made any noticeable difference. This might not work for everybody, but it sure has for me.
We brought in the chair cushions from the screen porch today, and will vac & roll up the rug and stick it in the garage until the pines are done.
Did the exact same thing here this past weekend. It gets all down in the wicker as well so we just moved all the furniture into our garage until probably mid-to-late April.
It was awful down here this past weekend. The front with winds and rain yesterday evening helped knock it down temporarily. Everything is blooming here now. It’s getting green.
We went up your way Saturday. Greener down there than up here in the Triangle. We went to the Heritage Farm Market in Supply, Habitat ReStore/Beaches Burgers/Vivi's by the Sea/CVS in Ocean Isle, Ace Hardware in Calabash. Took a ride through the neighborhood that got hit by the tornado recently.
Beaches Burgers was good, but I think I like Bennett's in Calabash better.
On a morning drive today I could see the swollen pine male cones in the tree silhouettes. They were bright yellow, so the yellow stuff is ready to release! When you can see it from the driver’s seat (while driving slowly in the neighborhood) you know it’s gonna be soon.
The dustcloud stuff looks nasty and makes a mess...but it's not what sets off those histamine reactions.
Xyzal had been doing the trick for me up until yesterday. Spent most of the afternoon outside for a backyard Easter cookout ...and was a sneezy sniffley mess all night even after a shower.

We walked the dogs two miles today. You could still see their footprints as we circled back on the way home. (Not an exageration, one of our dogs drags a foot, so you could tell it was his.) I've been home for 20 minutes, and still have that nasty Pollen-Taste in my mouth.
Today is the first day I’ve seen true clouds of it blowing around. I went into a house for less than 5 minutes this morning and my windshield was covered.
