Please continue to post events like this. Love the movie in the park gatherings. In Santa Monica, CA, the city would hold movie nights on the pier overlooking the Pacific. Saw many classics as well as recent offerings. It was great to be there hanging out with others throughout the L.A. area. Moreover, just being around others who like watching movies in the great outdoors. Simple. Cheap. Fun. Memorable.

Morrisville has movie nights on a regular basis. Go to their website and sign up to receive the info by e-mail. Also, Museum of Natural Science in Raleigh has B SciFi movies that are free on the first Friday of the month. Museum is open until 9 those nights, musical entertainment, the Gallery usually has an opening, and they sell light refreshments. Carolina Parent magazine also has a pretty good listing of area activities--even if you don't have a child, it's worth checking out (print/online) for the calendar.
We just came back from a night that included watching the film Atonement at the NC Museum of Art. Great screen! Not terribly crowded. Sound was terrific. There even came a heated love scene that was humorously yet appropriately punctuated by the fireworks the fairgrounds were shooting off. It was perfect timing.
Just a reminder, however, that they were NOT letting people in with glass containers, unsealed water bottles, and anything else liquid that was not presealed. It appeared they would let people in with liquids with manufacturer sealed plastic containers only. I suspect the only reason for this was to prevent people from bringing in alcohol to the event. It didn't appear that they were doing this for potential profit.
